Anguish is that feeling that presses the body and the throat, to the point of blocking it, preventing breathing. From birth to death, every human being experiences the darkness of anguish. Some immense pains, such as the loss of a loved one, lead man into the most intense darkness. You become mute and remain silent, in tears and helpless. Alone it is impossible to emerge from the depths of the abyss. Only a force superior to reason is capable of reaching out, accompanying man in the ascent. This force is able to look at anguish with merciful compassion, so much so that it can upset the soul. Only thanks to this bursting energy, called hope, is it possible to find that small light in the midst of the most unbearable pain. It is precisely with hope that it is possible to find the beauty of life, the meaning of things, trust in the future, giving a new promise even to those who live in the shadow of death. The path that tells the story of the ascent from the shadow of pain, until reaching the light of rebirth, is the main theme of the photographic project, entitled “Glow”.
This work wants to focus attention on the fragility of the human being, full of fears and weaknesses, which can lead to the impoverishment of the spirit. Only by freeing oneself from the weight of materiality is it possible for man to climb one by one the steps that lead to true peace of heart and mind.
The dark atmospheres used by the photographers to create the shots want to symbolize the malaise that afflicts the modern human being. The choice of clothes was conceived by the stylist to accentuate the sense of vulnerability that frames the entire project. The model fully interprets the role assigned to her, getting involved in the representation of the theme addressed.
“Glow” is not just a simple photographic project, but it is a true call to rediscover oneself and the deepest meaning of life. It is an invitation to stop, to feel and to remember to be grateful, giving each of us the opportunity to reflect on our own interiority and spirituality.
