This work is a quiet dialogue between humans, animals, and the spaces
they inhabit. Inspired by Ingmar Bergman’s The Seventh Seal, the series
explores mortality, solitude, and the constructed narratives we rely on to
make sense of existence.

A lone figure cradles a sculpted animal - an object that is neither alive nor
natural. This deliberate artifice underscores the tension between reality and
myth, human intervention, and the untouched. The animals, whether real or
fabricated, serve as both symbols and witnesses, reflecting cycles of
instinct, fragility, and survival.
The figures move through a liminal space, caught between pastoral and
imagined worlds. They carry with them questions of identity and
interdependence, navigating a terrain where decay, care, and renewal
converge. The presence of the sculpted animal is a reminder of our
tendency to create symbols to process the impermanence of life.
This series resists definitive answers, echoing the existential meditations of
The Seventh Seal. It reflects on what we hold close, what we let go, and the
blurred lines between the tangible and the imagined in our search for
meaning.
