How long have you been a photographer? What pushed you on this path in the beginning?

My main profession is a film and music video director. When COVID happened there were no film or music video shootings for a long time so I decided to study the photography. I mean I knew a lot about the composition, color, etc. But I wanted to find out everything about camera settings and light  schemes. So I can say that I am the photographer since 2020 only.

I was passionate about photography because it captures the poetry in still moments, find unseen whithin the everyday. When you are a photographer you see reflections in puddles, sunflecks, shadow figures and million things invisible for others.

Have you always wanted to make art?

Absolutely, I always wanted this. I wrote my first screenplay when I was 9. I shot 2 short films. I studied direction, cinematography, screenwriting, photography.

All this because art is not only the way to show the world how I see it, but also how I would like it to be. I want people who are in front of my camera or who look at my photos (or videos, or films) feel freedom and accept themselves as they are. With their mistakes, pain, happiness, ambitions, weakness and desire to live. I am the visioner. The person who influences the present thinking about the future.

Tell us about your favourite shoot.

My favourite shoot now is this one, I called it «No Escape». It was not the  client shooting, I did it for myself. When you shoot for yourself you can risk and choose alive instead of ideal. Only truth breathes, touches people who looks at photos.  I told the model to imagine it is the interview with the lens. So she must be vulnerable and show her fine lines so people wanted to find her secret. The main thing was not to be perfect. As I think perfection is ugly. Somewhere in humans, I want to see scars, failure, disorder, distortion.

Hope the readers like what we did.

What inspires you?

Everything can be the inspiration.  Strangers who pass by, music which touches some strings and you imagine new photoshoot, my feelings at some moment, even clothes which you see in the shop.

How would you characterize your style?

Hard to asnwer, I am still searching. But what I try to find and show in my photos is cinematographic scenes with true emotions and interesting light. I do not want make usual photos, I would like to make originals which will impact the industry.

What advice would you give to a beginning photographer?

Be passionate. Whether you achieve great results or not you should be passionate to start over and over until you get what you dreamed of.
